Series of Lectures 2011: Prof. Sir Tom Blundell

Sir Tom Blundell, Professor and Director of Investigation in the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), have explained in a conference organized by CIC bioGUNE and FBBVA in Bilbao, how the knowledge that is being generated as of the sequences of the human genomes and pathogens, has the potential to accelerate the diagnostic, prevention and treatment of different diseases. In its intervention Professor Blundell has also affirmed that, although it has still not been managed to understand the function of all the genes and its products in individual cells, we are approaching quickly to the era of customized medicine.
